How appropriate, you fight like a cow!

Yesterday saw the release of the second remake in the Monkey Island franchise with the release of Monkey Island 2 : leChuck’s Revenge Special Edition on the Xbox 360.

.

Thankfully due to the awesomeness of it all it has been given a thorough and pretty damn decent overhaul and as with the first remake its a spectacle and oozes fan service.

It’s quite funny playing these games again, its interesting to see what you remember and why you remember them. Mike seems to be able to remember certain things for particular reasons and I remember some things for others.

For example I knew I had to pick up Largo’s spit on a piece of paper it was just finding the piece of paper (Which I found in the Cartographers ship).

you can’t fault the remake in any way, apart from maybe its insistence to get you to try direct control *blergh* but other than that it is perfect. A good couple of hours of entertainment and laughs ahoy in a wonderfully piratey adventure.

I just hope that one day they decide to bring the Telltale ones out on the 360, I could certainly go for playing through those I just don’t want to on either the Wii or my PC! Go figure ..

Watching Ponyo tonight, I haven’t seen it since I went to the cinema but I remember it being amazing. Can’t wait to see it on a friends new “cinema” setup.

Late in the day..

by Ashitaka on Jul.06, 2010, under Blogging

Soo it’s really late in the evening and I am in bed. I am no longer in the habit of putting status updates on Facebook so I’m thinking maybe I will utilise this place some more, maybe as some kind of online diary or hell even a blog!! *gasp*

Long day today work as always late shift do finished at 9, managed to get some further reading of the Mouse Guard rpg in and am really looking forward to giving it a try. the burning wheel seems like such an interesting way of playing a game that seems to heavily reward players for getting more into the game and attempting to make it more interesting! But more in that when I’m not typing on my phone from bed.

Recently picked up the new transformers game on the 360 and am really enjoying playing that through on co-op with my brother online. Thoroughly enjoyable and a complete fan service to fans of the original cartoon series.

Have pretty much stopped playing runescape. I’m still gonna goto Runefest but other things are getting in the way of MMOs as I remember the reasons I stopped playing them in the first place.

Disjoined post ahoy, I am now tired enough to go to sleep.

Saw kick-ass tonight and really enjoyed it. I heard it had got some duff reviews but I found it very fun! Certainly kore enjoyable to watch than the human centipede erffff…

Gnight!!

Them old Ivories!

them-old-ivories

I could bullshit about not having time to post and other such crap as that but in reality I’m not gonna lie, my life really isn’t that worth blogging about!

But what IS worth blogging about in my eyes is this ..

Now you may or may not know that Rockband, Rockband 2, Rockband ACDC, Beatles Rockband and Lego Rockband have taken up a significant amount of my playing time since they came out over 2 years ago (in the uk anyway), I have invested a stupid amount of cash into them and as a result have a massive library of songs.

The above picture signifies the first glance at the direction I hope the series is going, notice the keyboard and three part harmonies ? this is a good sign!

However what they DO with these will make a big difference and also the impending announcement regarding old DLC.

What is going to happen to the hundreds of pounds I have spent on DLC that is supposed to be forward compatible ? Because quite simply, im not gonna re-buy that shit!

Time will tell I suppose, but the chance of November Rain and Bohemian Rhapsody are enticing to say the least!

Pumping on my Stereo! .. no more ?

pumping-on-my-stereo-no-more

I think it’s times like this I kind of realise how old I am ….

It seems that after 17, yes SEVENTEEN years that Supergrass are splitting up. Yes they may not have been in the limelight for years but they have done some classic genre defining songs and were such an icon of British music in the nineties its a shame to see them go.

While they are apparently going their separate ways and I’m sure it wont be the last we see of their side burns it’s still sad.

Also, its been a long time since I’ve done this :

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (April 20) and PlayStation 3 system (April 22):

Coheed and Cambria – “Guns of Summer” +
Coheed and Cambria – “Here We Are Juggernaut”
Coheed and Cambria – “The Broken” +
Siouxsie & The Banshees – “Peek-a-Boo”
Supergrass – “Sun Hits the Sky” +
The Violent Femmes – “American Music”

Yey for Supergrass in my opinion! I’m not sure if this is co-incidence but its a good song choice, not Pumping on Your Stereo or alright but its a solid choice.
